If you want to relax, you can head to a local spa, such as Lake District Spa at Lodore Falls, or perhaps take a hike up some of the local fells which will show you the district from an entirely new vantage point. Morning walks around the lake are also a brilliant way to unwind and get some much needed fresh air, so be sure to pack your comfortable footwear!
For those looking for a busier holiday, there’s plenty to do and see – watersports are a popular pastime in the area thanks to the large bodies of water that are naturally available, but there are lots of attractions for foodies too. The Lakes Distillery is somewhat of a pilgrimage for those among us who enjoy fine spirits from local independent makers – expect to find all of your favourite tipples along the tour, with a few tasters thrown in for good measure.
When it comes to food, you have to check out the Brossen Steakhouse – it’s right on the main square and serves some of the finest cuts of meat, cooked to perfection.
